Help & Troubleshooting

đź’ˇ

Important First Step: Please make sure your iPhone and your TV setup (AirPlay, Google Cast, or Smart TV) are connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network. The network needs to be open enough for devices to talk to each other freely—so make sure there are no strict office firewalls or router security blockers turned on, and that your TV has its casting option enabled. Otherwise, the app won't be able to find your TV!

Q

My Google TV or Chromecast isn't appearing?

Google TVs and Chromecast devices sometimes need their casting features turned on in their settings. If your TV isn't showing up in the app, grab your TV remote and try these simple steps:

  • Open your TV's Settings, go to the Apps section, look for Chromecast built-in, and make sure it is enabled.
  • Open the Google Home app on your phone to double-check that your TV is properly linked to your home setup.
  • If it still won't connect, try giving your TV a quick restart using your TV remote settings. This usually clears up any temporary issues.
Q

My Smart TV isn't found (DLNA or older TV models)?

Some TVs—especially older or uncertified Smart TVs—don't always announce themselves on the network automatically. They just need a gentle "nudge" to wake up. Try these quick tricks:

  • Change the starting order: Completely close the Media TV Cast app on your phone, open the app fresh, and then turn on your Smart TV.
  • Refresh your phone's Wi-Fi: Open your iPhone's Control Center, turn Wi-Fi off, wait 3 seconds, and turn it back on. This refreshes your phone's connection to your home network.
  • Check your TV's connection settings with your remote to make sure features like DLNA, Casting, or Media Streaming are toggled on.
Q

Why are some of my photos or albums missing?

If you open an album and notice some of your pictures aren't showing up, the app likely doesn't have full permission to access your photo library yet. You can easily fix this in your iPhone settings:

  1. Open your iPhone's native Settings app.
  2. Scroll down through your list of apps and tap on Media TV Cast.
  3. Tap on the Photos row.
  4. Change the setting from Limited Access to All Photos.
